Bon Temps

During our most recent time in Amboise and environs, we have had many enjoyable moments.  Our dear neighbor Patricia who speaks a little bit of English invited us over.

Her son owns an art gallery in Paris that deals in "ancienne" works and handles transactions for museums.

Her faithful companion, Athos (remember him from 'The Three Musketeers").

She served a meal prepared entirely by herself

Salade avec beaucoup des tomates et radis

Salmon with lentils

She also has very contemporary furnishings in a very old 4 story home right on the Loire River.

We were fortunate to make the acquaintance of Jean Louis Sureau, the Executive Director of the Chateau d'Amboise.  Below is our personal invitation to a quartet presentation of music to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of Anne d'Bretagne, a very important queen in the history of the Chateau.

Meeting Allison and Michael was a highlight this summer.  They hail from New Zealand and Hong Kong and New York and recently purchased a fantastique estate named La Restrie nearby.  It was built in the 17th century, and they are fully restoring all the buildings and landscape.

Allison was the creative director for Estee Lauder Asia, and her creative talents abound at La Restrie.

She prepared all the dishes herself.

Once again Jean Louis invited us to a unique concert at the Chateau.

This time it was a concert of none other than French Horns !
